President Obama will reveal his major jobs initiative during a televised speech on Thursday, September 8. And Angelenos are ready.

Good Jobs LA - a grassroots organization with the mission to reclaim the American Dream - has rallied unemployed workers and residents from struggling local communities to gather at 200 Obama jobs speech watch parties. Screenings will take place at 3:30pm at houses, community centers and parks throughout South Los Angeles.

An analysis by the organization shows that 22 L.A. companies have announced layoffs of 100+ workers since June 2011. The U.S. Labor Department says one in four workers in Los Angeles is either unemployed or underemployed.

For additional information and to RSVP to a watch party, email Jacob Hay or call him at 310.855.2640. You can also search for a watch party on the Good Jobs LA site.
