A 23-year-old mentally disabled mom and her 4-week-old daughter were found unharmed in a motel near the intersection of South Western Ave. and Martin Luther King Blvd. in Leimert Park, reports CBS News.

Kathy Nicole Leath and her baby, Genesis True Leath, went missing on Saturday while grocery shopping with Kathy's uncle and caretaker, Cortez Leath. Cortez told authorities that they were at the Ralph's on San Vicente and Pico Blvd when he left Kathy for a moment, then returned to find her and Genesis gone.

A CARE alert was issued for the mother and daughter on Sunday. Although 23, Kathy has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old.

Authorities found Kathy after realizing that she had visited an inmate at the Men's Central Jail on Sunday. They were then able to track her whereabouts.
