High Surf Alert! 7-11 Foot Waves to Hit SoCal Beaches

Summer is not endless, unfortunately, but a decent swell hitting SoCal today will put the cherry on top of August for surfers.

Effective today at 5pm, sets of 7-11 foot waves will crash onto south-facing beaches from L.A. to San Luis Obispo County. The high surf advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, is expected to last until 5pm on Friday.

We predict that avid surfers will be skipping their lunch breaks today, bolting from their desks in time for a post-work shred and will hit the water morning, noon and evening to charge the waves.

High surf marks a great start to the holiday weekend for surfers, but not so much for lifeguards who will be on high alert.
