7-Month-Old Boy Laid to Rest After Being Dropped From Parking Garage

Funeral services were held today in a La Habra church for Noe Medina Jr., the 7-month-old baby whose mother is accused of dropping him from an Orange County parking garage, reports CBS News.

The boy fell from the garage on August, and later died despite doctors' efforts to keep him alive. His mother, 31-year-old Sonia Hermosillo, is being charged with murder and assault.

Noe Medina, the baby's father and Hermosillo's husband, has said that Hermosillo struggled with postpartum depression, and couldn't accept the boy's medical conditions. The child suffered from congenital muscular torticollis, in which the neck is twisted to one side, and flat-head syndrome, or plagiocephaly.

The couple have two other children, and according to neighbors it was not until Medina Jr. was born that Hermosillo began acting differently.

If Hermosillo is found guilty, she faces 25 to life in prison.
