'SaveGreenNow' Via New Eco-Friendly L.A.-Based Daily Deal Site
Daily deal sites have evolved into a booming online trend, flooding the inboxes and feeds of eager consumers. Internet users need not search for a local waxing salon, yoga studio or eatery - Groupon, Kgbdeals, LivingSocial, etc. - they’ve got you covered. But what about green products? Who's catering to the eco-conscious consumers who refrain from whipping out their plastic rectangles at the mention of any on-sale product? As of August 1, 2011, Los Angeles-based SaveGreenNow is.
An extension of EcoHomeResource, the group buying site dedicates its deals exclusively to eco-friendly products and services. Featuring natural, vegan, holistic and organic offerings, SaveGreenNow's discounts for online companies are available nationwide while their in-store coupons are currently available only in L.A.

We caught up with Karen Moore, founder and owner of both SaveGreenNow and EcoHomeResource, to quickly pick her brain regarding her newest venture.
What are your favorite products featured so far this month?
We launched this month (August) with some really fabulous products! It's hard to pick a favorite...I love the organic baby and toddler clothes from The Little Seed (so cute!), and I thought the shower curtains from Rock Candy Life were great. A lot of people don't think about how toxic their shower curtains are, especially when you add steam, you are inhaling all of those chemicals into your body! I guess that is one of the things I love about this site, while offering great discounts on wonderful products & services, I think we are also educating people on what they can do (in even the smallest and cheapest ways) to improve the quality of their lives...while benefiting the planet.
How many deals has SaveGreenNow sold to date?
We just launched a few weeks ago, so we are still in our infancy. We are excited about all of the new people who are signing up everyday to subscribe to SaveGreenNow.com. I can tell you that we sell more deals each week than the week before. It is growing very fast and we are encouraged by the positive feedback we are receiving.
Why L.A.?
First, because we are based here and most of our team is in the LA area. Second, it is a big city full of eco-conscious people. Third, there are a lot of green companies based here, so there is a lot of options for the merchant deals as well as strategic partnerships.
