The investigation of Kelly Thomas' death continues, and the Orange County District Attorney is reportedly halfway through his probe, according to CBS LA.

Thomas, 37-years-old, was brutally beaten to death in early July by six Fullerton police officers. Since then numerous protests have occurred in support of justice for Thomas, and the officers involved have received a slew of death threats.

Tony Rackauckas and his team are examining whether or not the officers used excessive force during Thomas' arrest on July 5. The victim died five days after his detainment.

Rackauckas' office has gathered over 100 witnesses thus far, and the results of a toxicology report are still pending.

Fullerton Police Chief Michael Sellers continues his paid medical leave, which began shortly after the controversial incident.

I don't need a report to tell me it was excessive force.
