It's Such A Good Mission: Mark Wahlberg Launches Recording Studio for Teens
We love when celebrities put their money and time towards a good cause. The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, established by the Entourage Executive Producer himself, unveils its latest project, Graduate to Go Studios, in conjunction with The Taco Bell Foundation for Teens.
Located at the L.A. Harbor Boys & Girls Club in San Pedro, the new multimedia recording studio is the first of four similar studios slated for construction at Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. The mentoring program will host year-round college-like projects, offering a music and film production-centric curriculum. Teens will also participate in job shadowing field trips plus get a taste of the real world through career experiences at local entertainment companies.
Remember how much you used to love field trips? Remember how star struck you became (or still become) when vis-a-vis with a celebrity? Teens will also have chances to work directly with Wahlberg and showcase their original recordings.
Graduate to Go's mission aims to inspire teens to graduate from high school.
The official launch is slated for Wednesday, August 31, as a private event complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony, roundtable presentation and Mr. Wahlberg.
Who would have thought Marky Mark and tacos could help save our youth? We're impressed.
