Love Is Like A Heat Wave, & This Week, So Is the Southland

It's getting hot in the Southland, but please, remained clothed.

Beginning today, a warming trend will escalate valley temps to 100 degrees and above. The next few days are expected to be the hottest of the summer and will keep people sweating through the weekend.

Antelope Valley residents - we feel for you. Your 'hood is predicted to be the hottest in the Greater L.A. Area, reaching a torrid 108 degrees by Thursday.

"Although this will not be a prolific heat wave event, daytime high temperatures will continue to be the warmest we have seen this summer across the interior locations," said an NWS advisory.

The advisory urged those venturing outdoors to wear lightweight clothing and drink plenty of water. Our advice? Stay indoors, naked, and chug that H2O. Or head west and soak your overheated, overworked bods in the chilly Pacific. It may actually feel refreshing in such high temps.

Additionally, the advisory reminded citizens of common sense actions during a heat wave, as people often fail to use their noggins when temperatures soar.

"Never, ever leave children, the elderly or pets in enclosed automobiles, even for a short period of time. Even if the windows are partially open, temperatures can quickly rise to life-threatening levels."

Good luck out there, Southlanders. Come Sunday, temperatures should descend.
