Porno for PETA: Group Will Launch Porn Site to Promote Veganism

PETA campaigns often employ unconventional tactics to draw attention to their animal advocacy missions. Case in point: In honor of World Water Day in March, models showered on the sidewalks of Hollywood to raise awareness on how meat production and consumption affects water usage. The display absolutely grabbed witnesses' attention, causing at least one fender bender.
Now the group is raising more eyebrows as they plan their next marketing crusade - they're launching a porn site. The website, "peta.xxx," will serve as "a pornography site that draws attention to the plight of animals," according to Reuters.
This site stems from a new triple-x Internet domain launching in December. Thousands of companies are lining up to preregister their trademarks, as the domain operator administrator is currently accepting applications. The Huffington Post confirmed PETA's site endeavor via phone interview.
"We live in a 24 hour news cycle world and we learn the racy things we do are sometimes the most effective way that we can reach particular individuals," said PETA spokeswoman Lindsay Rajt.
Let's not forget about PETA's other past stunts involving celebrities posing nude for their anti-fur campaign and erotic moments in veggies to promote veganism. The porn site will dedicate its focus to raising awareness of veganism.
"We really want to grab people's attention, get them talking and to question the status quo and ultimately take action, because the best way we can help the greatest number of animals is simply by not eating them."
Can we expect more tender moments with vegetables? The site "will have enough adult content to qualify for the XXX domain site" but will offer "some other graphic images of animals that viewers may not expect to see."
