Clerk Stabbed at Santa Monica Albertson's Store, Husband Is Suspect

A grocery store employee was stabbed multiple times Sunday afternoon while she worked her shift at a Santa Monica Albertson's store. The victim may have been stabbed by her estranged husband, says the Santa Monica Daily Press, and the Santa Monica Police Department are considering the man, Kelvin Green, a "person of interest."

Witnesses report seeing an African-American man in a light gray hooded sweatshirt walk into the store and behind the victim. The suspect "suddenly wrapped his arms around the victim and started stabbing" the clerk. He then fled on foot.

The woman was taken to an area hospital, and is in critical condition.

According to witness reports, the stabber ultimately got into "an older model gold Cadillac," and the victim's husband drives a 1998 gold Cadillac with the license plate number 4SUU331.

Green is at large, and is described as being "6 feet, 3 inches tall, 270 pounds with black hair and brown eyes." Anyone with information about the crime or suspect is urged to contact the SMPD.
