Ain't No Mountain High Enough: 7-Year-Old Boy Scales Mt. Whitney in One Day

Tyler Armstrong is our new hero. And he's the youngest hero we've ever praised. The seven-year-old boy from Yorba Linda climbed Mt. Whitney in under 24 hours, reports KTLA.
Reaching the summit in just under eight hours - seven hours and 50 mins - Tyler conquered the entire course in 17 hours. He now has his young eyes set on higher mountains, naming Mt. Kilimanjaro as a future mission.
"I want to climb every mountain there is, if that's possible," he proclaimed.
Tyler and his father, Kevin Armstrong, departed from base camp at about 8,500 feet in elevation at 2:05am and returned, after climbing to a towering 14,505 feet, at 6:42pm.
"He moved up that mountain - he pushed me," Kevin said.
Suffering only minor altitude sickness at the peak plus a scrap to his knee, Tyler championed the trek, passing "every group going up."
"It was probably one of the proudest moments of my life," he said. "I could see everything from the top of the world."
Eventually, Tyler aims to scale Mt. Everest, the world's highest mountain, and will tackle other climbs closer to home in the meantime.
"I think the sky is the limit," said Kevin, "And I'd love see where he can go."
We're keeping our (old) eyes on you, Little Armstrong.
