West Hollywood residents, please note that there will be a mandatory change in wardrobe this Thursday, August 18. Residents and visitors are required to dig up their tightest leather garb, flashiest, slim-fitting tank tops, animal print attire and bandanas. Additionally, anyone traversing WeHo on Thursday must meet the standard hair requirements: hair must reach at least six inches above the skull and fall to at least the breast line. These tress terms apply to girls, girls, girls and will be especially enforced for men. Music listeners may only jam to Motley Crue, including civilians wearing ear buds. Tattoo shops are extending their hours.
The City of West Hollywood has declared this Thursday Motley Crue Day in WeHo.
“So many of us native Angelenos consider MÖTLEY CRÜE to be our ‘home boys,’” said West Hollywood Mayor John Duran. “It will be an honor to recognize the ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ in our hometown and thank them for the incredible contribution they made to hard rock, glam and Southern California music,” continued Mayor Duran.
The L.A.-based heavy metalheads will also be honored as the 2011 recipients of the Elmer Valentine Award for their historic contributions to the Sunset Strip.
An invitation-only award ceremony is slated for 7pm at the House of Blues and kicks off the fourth annual Sunset Strip Music Festival.
We just dusted off our zebra print slacks, have commenced teasing, are smokin' in the boys room and are hitting the bottle pretty hard for a Wednesday morning. It makes us feel all right.
