Pencil This In: The Go-Go's, Belgian Beer & Sunset Happy Hour

Compensate for the dreary daylight hours by getting out tonight, L.A. The Go-Go's rock a homecoming show at the Greek Theatre. Mindshare LA beckons intellectuals. The TAG Gallery showcases over 50 winning works of art. Belgian beer follows Belgian cinema. And The Taste gears up for its Labor Day foodie extravaganza with a Montage mixer.

SOCIAL NETWORKING
Mindshare LA returns for yet another evening of brain candy, social networking and, of course, cocktails at the Los Angeles Theater Center. Tonight’s three guest speakers will cover the following topics: “Particle Physics & Adventure Sports,” “Spiral Dynamics: The Flexibility of Human Nature” and “Complimentary Currency & Transaction.” Lectures aside, guests may also check out an interactive tech lounge and tunes from SuperTall Paul. 6:30pm-11:55pm. Tickets are $25 online and $30 at the door.

ART
Santa Monica's TAG Gallery at Bergamot Station premieres the work of the 50+ California Open Juried Competition winners tonight through September 2. This six annual nationwide competition recognizes excellence in a diverse range of styles and media plus grants artists massive exposure. 11am-5pm. Free.

FOOD & DRINK
The Taste's weeklong happy hour promotion commences tonight with Sunset Hour at Montage Beverly Hills. Guests will imbibe in "specially priced" cocktails, courtesy of Absolut Orient Apple, plus free small eats by the Montage culinary team from 6pm-8pm. This event offers a taste of The Taste plus a 20% discount on The Taste tickets. 5pm-8pm. Free. RSVPs are required and must be done via email.

FILM
Belgian waffles are delicious, so why not check out Belgian cinema? After a successful screening series, the best of recent Belgian cinema returns and hosts a new program, beginning tonight, at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. Showcasing a different modern Belgian film every third Wednesday of the month, the program runs through March 21, 2012. But don't look too far into the future. Just look into your evening and decide if a foreign film is right for you. Tonight's silver screen motion picture is Pulsar, directed by Alex Stockman. The screening is followed by a Belgian beer lobby reception. 7:30pm-9pm. Tickets are $7 for American Cinematheque members, $11 for non-members and $9 for non-member students, seniors and children ages 3-17.

MUSIC*
Go-Go get your tickets for The Go-Go's concert tonight at the Greek Theatre. The high pop priestesses launched their Ladies Gone Wild national tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary of rocking, rolling and showing men how it's done AKA the release of their 1981 Beauty and the Beat album. Tonight's performance serves as a special homecoming show, plus it's lead singer Belinda Carlisle's birthday. Ticket prices range from $35-$65. 7:30pm-10:30pm.
