Few things will discourage a potential recruit from joining the Navy more than being penetrated by a foreign object after taking a practice exam. Today, a Navy recruiter was arrested by El Monte Police and charged with doing just that do a woman who was looking into joining the service in March.

40-year-old Van Van Tran is accused of sexually assaulting the woman, whose identity is given only as Jane Doe, after the woman paid a visit to the recruiting office. She was given a practice written exam, and then Tran drove her off the premises, "on the ruse of going to a library to get study aids for the regular exam," according to L.A. County officials.

However, Tran allegedly drove the victim to her home, and assaulted her before letting her go. The only description of the attack is that she was penetrated with a foreign object.

The victim reported the incident, and a warrant was ultimately issued for Tran's arrest. He is being held on $100,000 bail, and arraignment is scheduled for Friday, August 19th.
