They're in the Money: Salaries of Highest Paid L.A. City Employees Revealed

Ever wonder just how much those tasked with running the city are raking in? Well, City Controller Wendy Greuel, spooked by the scandal in Bell, has released the salaries of L.A.'s highest paid city employees, reports CBS News.

The highest paid person is much more low-profile than you might expect: Gina Marie Lindsey, the general manager of the Los Angeles World Airports, who earns $326,856 a year. After her came Police Chief Charlie Beck, with a salary of $307,291 per year. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa earns an annual salary of $232,436.

The lowest paid city employee, in case you were curious, is the Matt Karatz, the deputy mayor for economic and business policy, who earns a token $1 a year.
