A toddler found wandering the streets last night in his diaper and a t-shirt has been returned home safely, reports NBC LA.

The child was found at around 4:00 a.m. by resident Luis Estrada, who was driving his minivan through Sun Valley when he saw what he thought was a doll. Realizing that the doll was moving, he stopped, saw that it was a child, picked him up and called police.

According to police, the boy was in good health, clean and didn't appear to have been abused, neglected or abandoned.

He was retrieved by his mother just after 6:00 a.m. KTLA 5 reports that the mother told police she didn't realize the boy had managed to get out of the house during the night. A representative from Department of Children and Family Services will conduct an interview nevertheless, notes NBC LA.

    Yep.
Little kids CAN do things most parents don't realize - especially when said parents are dead-to-the-world-asleep and little kidlet has never previously shown any Houdiniesque capabilities.

  • Sneaky sneaky!  I feel for the parents - they will never sleep well again.  And, the little boy will probably get a new gate at his door.
