Rethinking LA Means 'Moving Beyond Cars' This Thursday
Moving Beyond Cars, an event in conjunction with Rethink LA: Perspectives on a Future City, envisions a Los Angeles independent of the automobile. Imagine that.
This Thursday, Angelenos are asked to travel to the Architecture and Design (A+D) Museum via bike, scooter, foot, public transportation or hoverboard - abandoning any and all use of auto transport. The brave travelers are encouraged to document their trip via Tweets, Facebook posts and Flickr using the tag #RethinkLA and will record their journey upon arrival to the museum. Attendees with the best "beyond car" sagas will win prizes.
The event is a collaboration between GOOD, deLab, Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, Dublab, Green Aid, Architects Newspaper, Tommy B, New Belgium Brewery and the A+D Museum and features several other perks.
*The incredible spin-artists from Dublab will be DJing.*Free beer will be on hand, courtesy of New Belgium Brewery.
*(We're repeating that last bullet in case you missed it.) Free beer will be on hand, courtesy of New Belgium Brewery.
*Stop by the Drive-Thru Photo Booth and have your shot taken by Tommy B.
*Greenaid will be on hand to talk about their Seedbombs, and
greening the world one pellet at a time.*The folks from LACBC will have a bike valet out front.
*GOOD will be collecting statistics on your journey to turn into an incredible alternative transportation based Infographic.
The party starts at 7pm and goes until 10pm. Tickets are $10 and $5 for students. RSVP online.
