Compassion Over Killing Hosts Summer Soiree Under The Stars
.
Compassion Over Killing, a Washington D.C.-based animal advocacy nonprofit, hosts Summer Soiree Under the Stars on Saturday, August 27.
Both a garden party and film screening, the event features a four-course meal, screening of Forks Over Knives, Q&A with the film's Executive Producer Brian Wendel, live music and a live auction.
Foodies, brace yourselves. The evening's menu is as follows: "A delicious meal of savory twists, ruby red salad, rosemary cashew-cream stuffed figs, Gardein chick’n with apricot-tequila glaze over saffron risotto, and boysenberry and white chocolate mousse as well as cocktails and other beverages."
"It’s the perfect celebration to wrap up the summer and help our efforts to support healthy school lunches," says Compassion Over Killing.
Critics from LA Times, Variety, NY Times and Chicago Sun-Times hail Forks Over Knives, a film examining the claim that most degenerative diseases can be reversed by rejecting animal-based and processed foods, "richly inspiring" and "politically volatile." Roger Ebert declares the documentary as "a film that can save your life."
Located at a private residence in Rancho Palos Verdes (Portuguese Bend), the evening soiree begins at 6pm and goes until 10pm.
Tickets are a $50 tax-deductible donation. Reserve your space online by August 24.
