A Sad Collage Of Missing Cats In Echo Park

Deanna Duran and her kitty Flash, both seven-year residents of Echo Park, noticed an increasing number of "Missing" flyers in the neighborhood, reports The Eastsider LA. Then Flash went missing too. And after an exhaustive search and thorough postering of the area, the "gruesome discovery" of Flash's leg was found in the street by a neighbor. Coyotes.

I‘ve lived in this neighborhood about 7 years and have never seen so many “missing posters” around. After talking to some people around here people have seen up to 5 coyotes roaming around at night looking for prey- our cats! I myself have seen 3 right in front of my house. We talked to the wild life ranger at Lacey street animal shelter and he did confirm indeed there is a problem with coyotes on our area and has instructed us what to do.

L.A. Department of Animal Services has some advice about what to do to protect the fluffy ones from coyotes.
