Rawesome Raid Captured On Tape, Locals Infuriated

Yesterday's Rawesome raid was caught on tape, and local supporters of the Venice health market are not happy. Witnesses comment on the events, expressing disapproval, and fire questions at authorities.

"Welcome to America where's it's a crime to eat organic food," says a witness.

One woman found the charges against Rawesome not so awesome.

"As an American, this is a criminal action. There should be a citizen's arrest."

Another witness chastised other bystanders in response to their comments.

"You guys really need to educate yourselves. I know you all think you're doing something really great here, just get a fucking education."

As part of an undercover operation, three people were arrested yesterday - including James Cecil Stewart of Rawesome - for the alleged illegal production and sale of unpasteurized goat milk, goat cheese and other products.

Stewart faces thirteen counts.

Guess all the great farmers of our history that raised their families on farms and raw milk, dairy, organic foods etc..were all missing out on Obamas FDA Regulations and Armed Militias going after PRIVATE business??? Bet our farmers never would have thought it would come to this.  Now it is about mandatory to buy Monsanto's seeds, genetically modified with toxins and chemicals and farmers have no choices.  Most other developed countries have outlawed genetically modified foods. Now, even Atlantic Salmon is being genetically modified, with chemicals and who knows what. Eggs grown up on an Island and eggs sent to Panama to grow into Salmon for us. Pigs..same, called Echo Pigs.  NO law that makes any food labels to say they are genetically modified.  All our corn, all soybean and soy products, sugar beets into sugar, maize, cotton and who knows how much more at this time. Biz is really growing for Monsanto' and Gov't.
BUT raw milk in a Private, Members only co-op is so bad, it takes loads of armed cops??  PLEASE..get involved.

I understand food safety, however I doubt that more people could have died from Raw foods or dairy, compared to those that buy Food Processed or milk/dairy from a regular market that are loaded with toxins and chemicals.  I'd like to see some REAL statistics on death from Raw and organic compared to those with chemicals and toxins???   Loaded guns? Big CRIME huh?
FDA is now doing same with vitamin/supplement stores, going on right now with a Bill 1310 from Sen.Durbin, D-Ill.  FDA trys to say it is Safety, but truth on supplements is that BIG PHARMA wants charge of this, as they want the money and FDA giving it to them. Big Pharma sell a Prescription of Fish OIL for $185.00 compared to same from a vitamin/supplement store for $15.00.
SO, soon...consumers may not get these good, helpful organic supplements except thru  BIG PHARMA Prescriptions eventually.  Better to get toxic, chemical laden prescriptions that cause serious side effects and/or death?
This is a massive  Obama, left wing, socialist takeover of all our freedoms and our freedom of choice...It is cater to Big Biz.  Some say it is only Republicans that give to big biz...but you can see what our current Gov't. has been and is doing don't you??? Think Control, Power, Money and greed and the middle class becomes the Poor Class with no freedoms.  I hope this Member only store can continue their fight and struggle.

All it would take is for a Tea Bagger's  kid to die from drinking unlabeled or E. coli O157:H7 tainted raw milk and he would turn into a raging government-loving liberal real quick.

It is legal to sell raw milk in California, as long as you adhere to state regulations and the animals are certified safe by a veterinarian.  Just follow the regulations and sell the milk legally.  It's just that easy.

It's funny how liberals are all for big government and high taxes until it affects their little neighborhood hookah lounge or raw milk mart.  Liberals are so lost.

I will never understand why people would think that drinking raw animal juice could be considered a good thing. I want to hurl just typing it.

  • I don't understand it either.  But if people want to drink unpasteurized milk or cow piss for that matter they should be allowed to.  As long as it is clearly labeled then who cares?

  • Schizno

I guess the short answer to that is: public safety. Otherwise why are we as taxpayers paying for things like the FDA to inspect food processing to ensure unscrupulous processors aren't pumping milk full of melamine or animal droppings? I'm not for drinking from animals but I do like cheese and such, I'd rather the source be at least marginally inspected facilities that make sure people wash their hands, use clean utensils, etc.

  • as taxpayers, why are we paying the police to raid a health store. i'm pretty sure that the LAPD has a few other ways that they could spend their time.
