Son Charged With Attempted Murder & Arson After Setting Mom's SUV Ablaze
Gordon Grant, an Inglewood man who set fire to his mother's SUV with her inside on Sunday, has been charged with attempted murder and two other felony crimes by the District Attorney's office today.
The additional felony counts include making a criminal threat and arson. Bail has been recommended at $1.125 million.
Authorities reported that Grant and his mother endured an argument on Sunday, prompting the attempted murder. Grant poured a flammable liquid on the hood of his mother's SUV and ignited it. His mother managed to escape without injury despite being seat-belted inside of the vehicle.
If convicted, Grant faces a potential maximum prison term of life without parole.
