43-year-old Brian Natonski of Los Angeles was arrested on Thursday in a sting operation at the Central Library for allegedly stealing a laptop left intentionally unattended by detectives, according to LA Now.
17 thefts have been reported at the Central Library so far this year. The most stolen items are laptops, iPods, cellphones, and bicycles. Police say the Central Library's history department is a favorite target among thieves.
Natonski, who identified himself as a homeless man living in downtown LA, was booked for grand theft. Bail was set at $20,000.
