Careful, Kitteh! Purina Recalls Certain Cat Foods

We Angelenos love our pets, and so no doubt many a cat owner in the Southern California area will be distressed to find out that Purina has recalled some of it's cat food.

KTLA reports that the company found out that a number of batches made in 2010 were possibly contaminated with salmonella. The recall includes the following:

Purina One Vibrant Maturity 7+ Dry Cat Food with a "Best by" date of May 2012:

  • 3.5-pound bags, with production codes of 03341084 and 03351084 and UPC codes of 17800 01885.

  • 7-pound bags with production codes of 03341084 and 03351084 and UPC codes of 17800 01887

It's not clear whether any cats have been hurt from eating the contaminated food.
