Pets of the Week: Pretty Pittie 'Masala' & Big Kitty 'Explorer'

Masala is a wonderful dog who was found back in 2009 wandering desolate desert roads all by herself. What was truly remarkable was that she wasn't alone; an orphaned puppy was by her side. The puppy clearly was not Masala’s but this sweet girl had taken him under her wing, keeping him safe from speeding cars, hungry coyotes, and the cold desert nights until they were rescued together. This act of kindness proves Masala is a loving and special dog.
Take me home!
Masala is an amazing dog who is great with kids of all ages, always gentle and kind. She loves to be around people. Masala is respectful and mellow with everyone; she does not jump or bark. The volunteers at VRC love to take her on walks because she is so good on a leash. While she behaves around other dogs, she would prefer to be the only pet in the household.
Contact adoption@vrcpitbull.com with any questions regarding Masala. Adoption applications are submitted online. Villalobos Rescue Center has many outstanding dogs available for view at their website. Every dog is evaluated for temperament, spayed or neutered, microchipped and prior to adoption, crate trained and/or housebroken.
Hello, is it me you're looking for? Photo courtesy of Felines & Friends/LAist
Explorer is amazingly affectionate. He weighs about 16 pounds, but don't call him fat --he's just big boned! His heart is as big as his body and he purrs so loudly that you can hear him from across the room. He adores people, gets along with other cats and most dogs. He has never met a stranger. He approaches you, reaches up with his big paws and wants you to pick him up. Once you do, he'll rub your face with his all the time purring. He comes when he’s called and understands the word “no.” He is quite the gentlemen, always on his best behavior and would love a home of his own - just be sure to have another kitty so he can have a friend. Friends are very important to him!
Felines & Friends is looking for a foster home for Explorer, with the hope of eventual adoption. He currently has an upper respiratory infection that will most likely dissipate once he moves into a less feline populated household. Felines & Friends will cover his medical costs while he is in foster care and will finalize the adoption once Explorer recovers from his sinusitis.
Felines & Friends does adoptions every Sunday at VIP (Very Important Pet) in Beverly Hills from 2pm to 6pm. Check the Felines & Friends website for photos and information about other animals available for adoption.
