L.A. County Sheriff's Deputy Charged With Two DUI Felonies
Deputy Michael Anthony Grundy, a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy, has been charged with two felony drunk driving counts and one felony count of fleeing the scene after a collision. The related incident occurred on January 29, 2011, which left another driver injured.
Grundy plead not guilty today to the charges. The three charges are as follows: one count of DUI and causing injury, one count of DUI with a blood alcohol level over 0.08% causing injury plus the fleeing count.
With a bond set at $50k, Grundy's next scheduled appearance is slated for September 7, 2011, in Division 38 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
After arrested by a California Highway Patrol officer, Grundy's blood alcohol level reportedly reached 0.15% by weight and more.
Driving under the influence is apparently common for Grundy, as his record shows a past DUI conviction in Riverside County in 2005.
Grundy faces up to three years and eight months in jail if convicted.
