Tell Us: What's The Ideal L.A. 'Hood For The World's Largest Apple Store?

New York City's Grand Central Station will be the future home of the world's largest Apple store, as reported by Gothamist. The 23,000-square-foot retailer will take the place of Métrazur in the terminal's north and northeast balconies.

This begs us to ponder the possibility of a west coast option. Say Los Angeles were to entertain the next largest Apple store in all the land. Where would we put it?

Perhaps we could level a few head shops and x-rated retailers along Hollywood Boulevard to make room for the Mac attack?

Who's to say wiping out The Grove and extending its current Apple retailer isn't the winning idea? But then what will A.C. Slater do with his afternoons?

What about Union Station? It's a popular site for films and weddings. Why not squeeze in a giant Apple store?

Maybe one of the valley pockets, like Burbank or Studio City?

Better yet, why not install an Apple store with a view? The exclusive sands of Malibu could definitely use some extra action.

Or, how about along Rodeo Drive? Surely, we don't need all of those high-end designer boutiques.

Talk to us hypothetically, Angelenos. We're curious cats today.

  • downtown or glendale

  • How about we build that downtown instead of a stupid football stadium.

  • Arclight Cinerama Dome Complex, or in the HOLLYWOOD sign, they wanted to make it a hotel. or City Walk.

  • I see Downtown Los Angeles hosting an Apple Store once its is completely revitalized with Street Cars, the Farmer's Football Field, and new Convention Center. Maybe on 7th St. and Flower (just from the looks on Google Street view).

  • Sleeping Beauty's castle in Disneyland.  Oh wut.

  • All of Apple's recent "biggest" stores so far have been in old, ornate buildings (or at least the London and New York ones were), so I'd say Beverly Hills fit's Apple's style more

  • s k

you can fit it in the vast cavernous spaces created by the egos of apple users in LA

  • in any of the old border's buildings. that store on vine & sunset is pretty dang big... and empty!

  • Once the Hard Rock Cafe at hollywood and highland closes its doors, that would be a perfect location for a supersized apple store

  • Put it in the Del Amo mall, baby. We need it.

  • Holy jeez! Thank you! The South Bay has been lacking in Apple Stores (except for the horrible one in Manhattan Village)

  • i thought The Americana was to be the future site of the new Apple store. along with a Nordstrom move

  • Yep, looks like a pretty big Apple Store is going in at The Americana, there's a big curtain in front of the construction but it's obvious enough what it is.

  • Hollywood and Highland

  • Westwood blvd between Weyburn and LeConte

  • The Pasadena Apple Store is being remodeled right now. It has pedestrian traffic off the street, it's accessible to everyone. It remains my favorite Apple Store in Los Angeles.

It will be difficult to replicate the two New York City stores in Los Angeles. I worked in downtown LA and thought the 2nd floor of the Gift Box above Drago Centro in between the Paul Hasting Building and City National Tower would be an ideal place for an Apple Store. However the location lacks the the pedestrian traffic after 5:00 PM and it highly inaccessible.
