Law enforcement often proves creative when dubbing outlaws. The FBI and police officials in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles recently titled an unidentified male bank robber as the "Safari Bandit," per his unique getup.
Two July bank robberies link to the Safari Bandit - U.S. Bank Redondo Beach on July 1 and Montecito Bank & Trust Santa Barbara on July 8.
According to victims, the Safari Bandit's mustache and sideburns are fake. He is further described as Caucasian, between 35-45 years old, 6' tall and 180 pounds with a medium build and brown hair. Thanks to his shades, the Safari Bandit's eye color is unknown.
His robbery operation involves passing a type-written 3x5 note in capital, bold letters to tellers, alerting them of the robbery and demanding cash.
Information regarding the whereabouts of the mustachioed thief should be provided to Special Agent Patrick Conley at 310-629-9553.
