Bicycling not only serves as a form of exercise, eco-friendly transportation and camaraderie, it can also score big bucks for pedaling enthusiasts.

Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC), the only nonprofit, membership-based organization working exclusively for the millions of bicyclists in Los Angeles County, will receive a $7,000 donation from skateboard company Santa Monica Airlines in honor of Wolfpack Hustle's victory over Jet Blue this past Saturday. The local cyclist group challenged and beat Jet Blue in Saturday's Burbank to Long Beach Carmageddon race.

Anthony Converse of Santa Monica Airlines first fell smitten with bicycles when a doctor recommended he try bicycling after a skateboarding accident injured his knee. Wolfpack Hustle's recent win inspired Converse to sell one of his cars. That money serves as the gracious donation.

Santa Monica Airlines will present the check to LACBC tonight at 7pm at Tang's Donut in Silverlake. Wolfpack Hustle members will also be present.
