A new study from U.C. Berkeley found Los Angeles school teachers are quitting their jobs "at an alarming rate," according to CBS Local. The study notes that teachers working at Los Angeles Unified inner-city charter schools are "up to three times more likely to quit their jobs" than educators employed in other districts.

One of the authors of the study remarked that the finding are "probably the result of ongoing, difficult teaching conditions." Next stop, presentation for the school board.

  • Well of course, when you want to teach and enrich the lives a young people, it's soul crushing to realize the career you want is watered down to babysitting.

  • A much more informative story including a link to the study source is available on KPCC's website. IMHO, there is little from KCBS that actually approaches reporting.
