Stepmom of 10-Year-Old Boy Accused of Shooting Neo-Nazi Dad Pleads Not Guilty

The stepmother of a 10-year-old boy who's accused of fatally shooting his neo-Nazi father in the head has plead not guilty to charges of child endangerment and criminal storage of a gun, reports the Huffington Post.

Krista McCary of Riverside appeared in court yesterday to file her plea.

The boy, whose name is not being released and who will not be tried as an adult, told police that he and his four younger siblings knew where McCary and the boy's father, Jeff Russell Hall, kept their guns, and that they were easily accessible in a closet. He allegedly took the gun from the closet and shot his father at close range in the ear while Hall was sleeping on the couch.

According to a statement given to police by the child, Hall, 32, regularly abused him and McCary, as well as his siblings.

Hall was a leader in the National Socialst Movement, and according to neighbors regularly hosted gatherings at which guests would wear KKK hoods.
