Stow Family Among Those Named to Creditors Committee in Dodgers Bankruptcy

A creditors committee was named for the Dodgers bankruptcy case today, and among those included in the group is the family of Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants fan who was brutally beaten on opening day at Dodger Stadium.

"The committee, selected by a United States trustee, acts to ensure the interests of all unsecured creditors in the case," explains the L.A. Times' Dodgers blog. "The Dodgers, as the debtor, are responsible for covering the legal bills incurred by the committee."

David and Elizabeth Ann Stow filed suit against the Dodgers shortly after the beating incident. They are included, along with Major League Baseball Players Association, KABC Radio, AVM Systems and Pyro Events Inc., in the role of conservators on their son's behalf.

The team, under the ownership of Frank McCourt, filed for bankruptcy in June, much to the chagrin of Major League Baseball, as well as many fans.
