Local Company Prints Unique Letterpress Cover for Gillian Welch's 'The Harrow & the Harvest'

Today Gillian Welch announced her fall tour dates including September 29th at The Music Box Theater at the Fonda here in Los Angeles. Her new album The Harrow & the Harvest came out on June 28 complete with a hand-printed cover. This video shows the making of the cover at local printing company Aardvark Letterpress.

All ten tracks on The Harrow & the Harvest are performed by Welch with her longtime collaborator Dave Rawlings. We've been listening non-stop since the album came out and have been singing "The Way it Goes" and "Six White Horses" all day long. After Welch and Rawlings' appearance on Conan O'Brien last week, we'd bet that he's been humming "everybody's buying little baby clothes" too.

For Welch's crafty fans, in this next video she and Rawlings give a tutorial on how to stain the 100% cotton album cover in a coffee bath.
