Once he was hosting "The Price is Right" out of CBS studios, and now he's rescuing big cats: the Daily News reports that Bob Barker paid for 29 lions to be airlifted from circuses in Bolivia to the U.S.

The transfer came after the lions were seized by Animal Defenders International, headquartered in Los Angeles, in January in accordance with a law outlawing animal use in circuses in Bolivia.

According to the group's website, the animals were rescued from eight different circuses, and some cubs were as young as seven weeks old.

The airlifted animals were taken to Denver, CO, where they were given vet care and rehabilitation. From there, three of them so far have been released into a large big-cat habitat in the eastern part of the state. The Daily News notes that the habitat has underground dens and water, and is one of the largest of its kind in the country.
