Not For Never-Nudes: Celebrating National Nude Recreation Week

Nudity on LA County beaches is against the law, but that shouldn't prevent the bold among you from finding somewhere in SoCal to celebrate National Nude Recreation Week, which kicked off yesterday.

According to msnbc, the week will be filled not just with happy nudists frolicking about, but with some nude resorts hoping to preach the nekkid gospel to the bashful:

“If people would only try it once, I think they’ll see the joys of being naked outdoors,” says Carolyn Hawkins, spokesperson for the American Association for Nude Recreation in Kissimmee, Fla. “During Nude Recreation Week, most clubs open the doors for free and let people come in and see how much wholesome fun nude recreation can be.”

If you're looking to expose a little more of yourself to the sun, check out Black's Beach in San Diego or Gaviota State Beach in Santa Barbara, although we make no guarantees that you won't get cited at the latter.

While National Nude Recreation Week covers a broad range of activities, msnbc notes that there is in fact no dearth of nude commemorations for those in the know:

The year-round calendar is filling up. National Nude Gardening Day was May 14; The World Naked Bike Ride (motto: “Bare as you Dare”) was June 11; and the ever-popular Nudestock will be celebrated at various clubs Aug. 27.

Let's have lots of nudist beaches - all well away from the beaches the rest of us use and screened so they are out of sight. Some people like that kinda thing but most of us think it's plain... yukky!

nude is normal and nude is not rude
To me, being nude is being the same person but in a sensually charged ambience that is very pleasurable. Indeed I prefer being with my family and other sociable mixed gender naturists in clubs and resorts for all of our recreation or relaxation. My personal best was three weeks vacation at Euronat resort in France, with everything except sandals put away for the entire duration. And you may need to check http://www.naturistspace.org out there. The strangeness of shirt and shorts to depart there was almost as strange as becoming a naturist many years before. As regards sex-life; being nude together promotes an appreciation of the pleasure that can be given one to another.

The government needs to get off the people's backs. Its none of the government's business what people choose to wear or not.

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to have an image in the previous post. Many modern nudist resorts have all the amenities you would expect at regular resorts. Here for instance is a woman being massaged at The Terra Cotta Inn, Palm Springs. And massages were picked as the top 3 best by Palm Springs Life Magazine. Nudists are so lucky.
