Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks celebrates 55 today by offering its famous house combination for $2.15—the original 1956 price. The $2.15 price is available for both lunch and dinner, and comes with Soup or Tostada Chiquita, Spanish Rice, Refried Beans, and a choice of two items from a list of traditional Mexican dishes, including chile relleno, chicken taco, beef enchilada, vegetable tamale and more. Hours: 11 am-2 am.

The 9th Annual Summer Jazz Series continues tonight at Hollywood & Highland from 7-9 pm. Cine-Shorts is a new film series at The Standard, Downtown LA for aspiring artists trying to make their mark. DJ Micah provides the tunes in between screenings start on the 30-minute mark from 7.30 pm. Tonight’s selection is "Great Nights Start with a Phone Call" by Albert Reed.
BOOKS
Larry Edmunds Bookshop on Hollywood Boulevard hosts a reading for Vic Armstrong’s autobiography The True Adventures of The World’s Greatest Stuntman My Life as Indiana Jones, James Bond, Superman and other movie heroes. Tonight at 7:30 pm. Armstrong will show a highlight reel of his stunts.
