Minnesota Twins defeat LA Dodgers 6-4. After their 25-hit bonanza, the Dodgers came back down to reality. Sort of. They did manage four runs. They even got a homer from Aaron Miles in the fifth inning, his first since Sept. 16, 2008.

But Ted Lilly did them no favors with this third consecutive games giving up six runs. With his slow delivery, Jason Repko and Ben Revere each stole two bases off of Lilly which led to four of the Twins’ runs. The rest of the bullpen did a good job allowing only a hit and a walk the rest of the way.

LA Angels defeat Washington Nationals 11-5. It was a back-and-forth game. Ryan Zimmerman hit an RBI single in the first to get the Nationals off to a good start. The Angels answered back in the fourth on Erick Aybar’s double scoring Mark Trumbo. The Angels then took the lead in the fifth when shortstop Ian Desmond misplayed a grounder by Trumbo allowing two runs to score. But Trumbo gave those two runs back with an error of his own in what turned out to be a four-run sixth inning for the Nats.

The dizziness stopped in the bottom of the sixth. Aybar led off with a homer to cut the lead to 5-4. After Torii Hunter singled, Vernon Wells continued to swing a hot bat with a booming homer to give the Angels the 6-5 lead. The Angels added five more in the eighth to ensure no drama for the ninth. Nat’s manager Davey Johnson will have to wait another day to get his first victory since managing the Dodgers in 2000.
