Clarence Clemons Dead at 69

Known as the "Big Man," Clarence Clemons, talented saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, has died. He was 69. Clemons died following complications from a stroke he suffered last week at his home in Florida.

Springsteen issued a statement about Clemons' death:

"Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He was my great friend, my partner and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band."

Clemons left his mark on the music world through his many prominent contributions to Springsteen hits like "Born to Run," and numerous tracks on multiple E Street Band albums with "The Boss." He also performed on big hits like Aretha Franklin's "Freeway of Love," and, most recently, on Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory."
