You may have seen the anti-abortion billboards up around town targeting African-American women, which call black children an "endangered species" and have a link to anti-choice group toomanyaborted.com.

Now, the OC Weekly reports that signs with the same message are cropping up in LA, only this time the targeted audience is Latinas.

The billboard has a message in both English and Spanish, and it reads: "El lugar mas peligroso para un Latino es el vientre de su madre/The most dangerous place for a Latino is in the womb."

Gabriela Valle, senior director of California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, called the ads racist when speaking with the Weekly, and added that "They're anti-woman. They're anti-immigrant. This ad is just one more place for Latino communities to be attacked...An attack to one community is an attack to all."

According to a website at the bottom of the billboards, the group responsible for them is called Unidos por la Vida.

If it's a true statement, what is with all the outrage?

Disagreeing with the message because you are pro-choice is one thing but racist?

    Nice try.

Oops meant to hit reply not "like".

I have to agree with oddboy.

  • Really? It is turning the abortion debate into one about race. It says Latina wombs are dangerous. That Latinas are being irresponsible and are killing their race.
