Tracy Morgan Heads Back To Nashville, Apology In Tow For Homophobic Rant

Hollywood oddball Tracy Morgan offended many, many people when he went on a homophobic rant during a show in Nashville earlier this month that included the suggestion that he would stab his own son if his son was gay. The rant was originally documented by Kevin Rogers, a photographer and owner of the soon-to-be-published FUZZ Magazine, on his Facebook page, and spread quickly from there.
Morgan issued an apology, but has now announced that he'll go back to Nashville to the scene of the crime and apologize in person to those who were upset by his remarks, reports PopEater. After that, he'll head to New York to meet with young people in the LGBT community who have been left homeless or been hurt by their parents' unwillingness to accept their sexual orientation.
Morgan's rant was denounced not just by gay and lesbian groups but by his boss, Tina Fey. According to USA Today, Fey said in a statement following Morgan's remarks that:
"Stand-up comics may have the right to 'work out' their material in its ugliest and rawest form in front of an audiencebut the violent imagery of Tracy's rant was disturbing to me...I hope for his sake that Tracy's apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian coworkers at 30 Rock, without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with, or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket."
