A bit of good news for JetBlue passengers departing from and arriving at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank: Your boarding pass for your flight is also your ticket to ride a Metrolink train to or from the airport, free.

Announcement of the new partnership came today. Both the airline and the transit agency hope that the offer will help passengers save money and promote using public transit:

"By partnering with JetBlue, we are able to add value to our current passengers while introducing our service to travelers who do not typically use public transportation," said Mark Nitti, Metrolink's Director of Customer Engagement." Additionally, one less automobile on the roadways is good for the environment."

Passengers must present a printed boarding pass for a same-day flight in order to get their free Metrolink ride to or from the airport. The promotion is valid until the end of the year.

Last month, Metrolink enhanced their Bob Hope Airport service by extending and modifying the schedule of Metrolink train 901 to arrive at the airport at 6:01 a.m., which will help early-morning passengers get to their flights on time.
