Gay Cop Denied Right To March In Uniform in WeHo Pride Parade, Gets Gloria Allred to Take His Case

A homosexual law enforcement officer says he was denied permission to march in the upcoming Gay Pride Parade in West Hollywood while wearing his uniform. He was told by his employer, an as-yet unidentified law enforcement agency, in writing, that "his marching in uniform would bring 'discredit' to his governmental employer," according to a release issued by the office of the cop's new legal representation.
Naturally, if you're snubbed in the Greater Los Angeles area, your best next move is to hire Attorney Gloria Allred and hold a press conference, which is precisely what this officer has done. He intends to file a complaint of employment discrimination on account of his sexual orientation. The press conference is scheduled for later this morning.
The Christopher Street West Hollywood Gay & Lesbian Pride Parade is taking place this Sunday, June 12th. The officer had hoped to march in uniform alongside other law enforcement officers doing the same.
