LA Scavenger Hunts: Game On

'Tis the season for scavenger hunts, apparently; HuffPo has a post up today wrote about some of LA's best searches for local treasure, all of which take place in June or July. They include Race/LA, The Amazing Gourmet Food Truck Race, CitySolve Urban Race and Culver City Exposed, which is put on by Out of the Box Events, a company that also hosts hunts in Glendale and Santa Monica.

Entrance fees for these four events range from $25 (Culver City Exposed) to $95 (Race LA), but hunts aren't always that pricey; the LA Scavenger Hunt, which benefits the Union Rescue Mission and LA Food Bank, took place last year and charged participants just $10.

Some scavenger hunts are new this year -- the food truck race among them -- and some have been around for a while; Race/LA is now in its seventh year.

Have you ever participated in a city scavenger hunt? What did you think?

Thanks for posting this! Years ago I did a scavenger hunt in SF and it was amazing. I've been planning a Rose Bowl Swap Meet photo scavenger hunt for a while now. I'll probably be having it in July.
