TreePeople and Ed Begley, Jr., their "favorite environmental guru," host the first annual Green City Fair this Saturday, June 4, 2011, from 10am-4pm at the TreePeople headquarters in Coldwater Canyon Park. Pledging to "provide you with the resources to make healthy, sustainable changes," the fair is offering free sustainable workshops throughout the day, plus access to over 60 of L.A.'s greenest vendors. Workshop pre-registration is recommended and available online.

Other activities include live music, Whole Foods treats, upcycling crafts with the reDiscover Center, nature-inspired face painting and hikes with TreePeople's famous Dirt Doctor.

This free family-friendly event aims to gather the L.A. community and empower citizens with the necessary knowledge and resources to implement green solutions in their homes, campuses and workplaces. Attendees will learn valuable tips and advice like how to cook eco-friendly cuisine, how to harvest rainwater, how to green any living space and more.

As an environmental nonprofit, TreePeople "has a long-range vision to green Los Angeles by establishing a Functioning Community Forest in every neighborhood of the city." Get out, gain knowledge and go green.
