Excuse me @PinkTacoLA," @ChoMatic tweeted Thursday afternoon. "U have a LIVE DONKEY CHAINED UP and spray-painted pink outside your place? WTF is wrong with you?!"
"Sick, sick, sick shit," gasped Vegan blogger QuarryGirl, calling for a boycott of the "tacky-ass" restaurant.
By Friday morning, 1,000 people had "liked" the Boycott Pink Taco Century City Facebook page.
Access to the restaurant's Cinco de Mayo specials apparently required a $25 admission fee, according to one Yelper.
Pink Taco, which calls itself a chain despite currently having just one restaurant, was so shamed by the reaction on Twitter and Facebook that it deleted its accounts on both.
Police had the live ass promo removed, citing permit issues, reported KTLA.
Apparently shocked by the public backlash to a Cinco de Mayo promotion involving a donkey "mascot," tied up live in the pink, the restaurant has yet to comment, however, its 2007 "Pinky's Road to Stardom" video is still accepting comments on YouTube:
Rage on!
