Jamie Oliver Revolutionizing LAUSD Food: Less Enticing for Viewers than Reruns of Dancing B-List Celebs

The "Revolution" will not be televised, it seems. Well, at least not in May. ABC has decided that viewers are far more likely to tune in to see a repeat of celebri-dancers hoofing it on "Dancing With the Stars" than fresh episodes of Jamie Oliver's "Food Revolution" series for the next few weeks. The network has pulled the show for the duration of May Sweeps, and will resume airing the remaining eps in June.

Angelenos have watched the "Oliver versus the LAUSD" saga play out in our local news headlines, so perhaps the fact that we can't watch the much-edited footage on our TV sets might not be such a downer.

The series has been absent from the Tuesday, 8:00/7:00c hour since April 19 as the Alphabet has opted to air "Dancing With the Stars" recaps in its place. Said strategy will continue through May 24 leading into "Dancing's" two-hour season finale that night at 9:00/8:00c.

As for "Food Revolution," ABC will encore the show's first two installments on Friday, May 27 beginning at 8:00/7:00c with new episodes resuming the following Friday, June 3 at 9:00/8:00c.

Just how un-interested are viewers in watching Jamie Oliver dress up like a tomato and fill school buses with sugar? This sophomore season's premiere had 36% fewer viewers than its inaugural season.
