Rick Springfield, crooner famously known for belting out lyrics like "Jessie's got himself a girl, and I want to make her mine" and for briefly playing the role of Dr. Noah Drake on the hit TV show General Hospital, was arrested for a DUI in Malibu last night.

Officials report that Springfield was seen driving erratically down PCH in a 1963 Corvette (yes, we also think that this sounds suspiciously like the plot from a 1980's teen movie) at about 8:00 p.m. After being pulled over near Trancas Canyon Road and failing sobriety tests, he was taken into custody where he was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.10% (the legal limit in CA is 0.08%).

Springfield was released at 2:11 a.m. today and will appear in court on July 5.

We bet that Springfield really wishes he could have had Jessie's girl last night -- a girl like that probably would have given him a ride home.
