The price of gas is on the rise again, creeping healthily up into the $4+ range, and journeying steadily closer to the $5 summertime prices predicted by many experts. You might be sad about gas prices, particularly if you are among the many Angelenos with a big tank and a big commute and a not-so-big budget. MyFoxLA is sad about gas prices. So sad, they tacked a sadface emoticon on their headline today just to let you know, sniff...they feel it, too.

"SoCal Gasoline Prices Rise Again =-(" reads their headline. Hey, now, is that sadface...shedding a tear? Oh man!

These are the numbers they're crying over: "The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose a half-cent today to $4.235, the highest since Aug. 2, 2008." Here, take some more sad numbers in with your morning coffee: "The average price is 1.8 cents higher than a week ago, 20.1 cents above what it was one month ago and $1.141 greater than it was one year ago, but 39.1 cents less than the record high of $4.626 set on June 21, 2008."

Waaaaaaaaaaah!
