Sporadic Road Closures Continue as Obama Meanders Back to LAX
There's a big upside to the traffic story this morning -- it's Good Friday and the freeways are relatively clear.
UPDATE 9:30 a.m.: The president is now aboard Air Force One. Street closures lifted. We survived Obama Traffic Hell April 2011 (aka Obamageddon)!
Reports from the street indicated that President Obama's motorcade was headed from the Beverly Hilton westbound on Santa Monica Blvd around 9 a.m., possibly toward the VA Hospital on Wilshire (which was also closed until recently as part of the secret service's sneaky plan to deke potential troublemakers from guessing the president's route).
What's more, KNX 1070's "presidential traffic center" is concerned that the unpredictability of the presidential cavalcade's route may lead to a delay in the start of Lindsay Lohan's preliminary hearing on a necklace theft charge at LAX Court today (watch live OMG!)
Beverly Glen and Century of the Stars were momentarily closed at 9 a.m., as were the 405 offramps at Wilshire and Santa Monica. Thanks to TotalTrafficLA for liveblogging the Obama traffic olympics.
