The Glendale Hangover: 3 Police Officers Out Of The Wolfpack And Off City Payroll Following Vegas Joyride
Following an investigation, officials upholding a "zero tolerance" policy for police misconduct have confirmed that three Glendale officers who "took a patrol car on a joyride to Las Vegas," are no longer working for the department, reports the Glendale News-Press.
City spokesman Tom Lorenz confirmed that Officers Patrick Hamblin, Fernando Salmeron and Mike Ullerich were no longer employees with the city, but declined to say for what cause. City sources confirmed, however, that the trio had taken the patrol car to Vegas, although officials have refused to discuss the case of the subsequent investigation.
Reportedly, a number of other officers are also under investigation for misconduct including claims of an affair with the estranged wife of an arrested man, sexual solicitation, creating a hostile work environment, and an off-duty road-rage incident in Burbank.
Citing workplace privacy rules, Lorenz declined to say if the closed session of the Civil Service Commission on April 13 (continued to April 27) involved the three officers, notes the Glendale News-Press.
