Crying On The Freeway This Morning? Blame The Spilled Onions
An early morning crash involving an onion truck has caused a commuting issue on the 710 Freeway in Vernon. The California Highway Patrol reports that a semi-truck hauling a load of onions overturned from the onramp into a ditch before 3 a.m. on Thursday. Drivers may want to avoid the Bandini Boulevard entrance ramp to the southbound 710, according to NBC LA.
CHP closed the ramp as crews attempted to right the truck and offload cargo. The driver was not seriously hurt in the accident. Traffic is being affected by the crash despite all lanes being open on the south 710. Notes NBC LA, CHP expects by 9:30 a.m. to have the crash cleared.
